Two days ago, I got back from a really awesome holiday yesterday. It was a really awesome holiday of Real Awesome. I wouldn't have complained if the holiday had just been Fake Awesome, but no, it was real awesome, full of reality and realness and real.
'Twas a long holiday. Several weeks in fact, in the south-west of France, with my parents, a few very good friends, Nori and Gabriel (yup, they've said I can put their names on here, hurrah!), and (at one point) an uncle. Who smoked. I don't like smoke much, so I can't say his visit was the high point of the holiday. The high point of the holiday was... ah yes! All that swimming! I did loads. Tonnes. At least a hundred lengths a day. I think, on one day, I managed to do a thousand. Yes, I'm obsessed.
I think all the swimming caused me to lose a fair bit of weight, and I was healthy to begin with, so now I'm trying to eat as much as possible before I go to my sixth form in a week... Hence the roast chicken and rice of the "eating" section of this journal. And also, if you're very, VERY observant (patronisingness ftw!) you might be able to notice that the "eating" section and all the other sections are written in French. I'm sorry. It's infected me.
Anyway, holiday details! Flying out to France was horrible. I got earpop when the plane was descending. Really bad earpop. I got lots of support from my friends and parents, which sounds a bit babyish, but it was agonising. It was like... actually, I'm going to whinge on about what it was like. We went to see a French doctor and he said I had an ear infection and after a few days it was fine. And then I was free to swim! In our private pool, outside our private French country house. :3 Which is made of awesome. Real Awesome, again.
After that, we had a few guests over, uncles and parents' friends and one businessman from my dad's company (yawn! the most boring visit in history. Me, Nori and Gabriel pretty much hid in our rooms for the entire duration of his stay, chatting about life, the universe and everything... and such.) Time went quickly. Walks by the river! Swimming! Prune museums (HONEST), chatting, writing, swimming swimming swimming, hoping for good GCSE results, chatting, drives down hills, cute little lizards. Swimming. Swim swim swim.
I'm really not selling this holiday that well, am I? Oh well.
After several beautiful, sunny weeks, we had to march onto a plane. Well. We were supposed to. But it was delayed by about four hours. According to my dad, we're never flying with EasyJet again. I say hurrah, for I really, really hate their colour scheme. Evenutually we got back to England. No earpop! Not too much hassle. And then the next day was GCSE results day.
That was yesterday. And, to be honest, I can't contain my squee at the moment. I'm going to have to post the results and brag. Yep, sorry. Everyone has to at some point in their lives. 8)
Warning: if you don't like bragging, skip this bit.
